Micromax Bolt A27 - Old Phone, Good Price Review, Specs, Price of Micromax Bolt A27

  • For those of us with very little income available, it is useful to take a step back to assess the bare minimum that we require in our smartphones and other electronic equipment.

Do we need something that plays games and displays hd video, or can we be satisfied with something that merely connects to the internet reliably, and performs other basic functions well. The Micromax Bolt A27 is an example of just such a compromise.

Using Andoid v@.3.5 Gingerbread as an operating sytem, with a 0.3 megapixel camera, and 3.5 inch touchscreen, the Micromax Bolt A27 is certainly not a modern mobile device. However, for some people, it might be just what they need. Although lacking many modern amenities, the Micromax Bolt A27 is expandable with dual SIM card slots, wifi, and expandable storage up to 16GB. The Micromax Bolt A27 also includes a built in FM Radio. The primary reason to buy this phone however, is the price, at Rs. 3397, The Bolt is entirely affordable for most households.

The negatives of the Micromax Bolt A27 are self explanatory. It has only 160 MB of internal memory, abd only 256 MB of RAM, and an adequate 1 GHZ processor. This phone is not for gamers, is not for high definition video, and really is not suitable for any high intensity aplpications. It is also not compatible with 3G networks. But, it is cheap, and it is a smartphone, and you could do worse.

  • A look back: Micromax Canvas 2 A110 Price, Specifications - Where to buy

In light of the impending release of the Micromax Canvas A117 Canvas 4, lets take a look at a number of previous Micromax phones, smart and dumb. There should be something for everyone. Perhaps we can find an unexpectedly good deal on a previous top model, as a new generation comes around.

Today we start our new series with the Micromax Canvas 2 A110.

Currently listed at Rs.10249 on FlipKart, the Canvas 2 A110 continues to be a top seller. This highly rated phone is not too out of date, with a feature set comparable to mobile  phones of a more recent generation.

Despite some problems playing high definition video, and an underwhelming quantity of built in memory, both RAM and storage, most users have found themselves more than satisfied with The Canvas 2. The Micromax A110
As for the specifications, the Micromax Canvas 2 A110 has an 8 megapixel primary camera, .3 megapixel second camera, dual SIM card slots, and a 5 inch capacitive LCD touchscreen display. The Canvas 2 runs on Google's Android operating system, v4.04, Ice Cream Sandwich. The phone is wifi capable.
The one GHZ dual core processor at the heart of the A110 is more than enough for casual use, including gaming, watching videos, or browsing the internet. The battery life is decent, at 5 hours of talking time, and 180 hours on standby mode. The internal storage of 2 GB, and 512 GB of RAM are where the Canvas A110 falls behind its more modern competition.

Users have also complained of weak speakers, for both ringing and audio, and some difficulty playing higher definition videos. Fortunately, many of these issues can be resolved through software fixes and updates.
Overall, out of 1885 reviews, FlipKart buyers have rated this phone at 4.6 out of 10. However, many of these reviews were written earlier in this phones life cycle, when it was closer to top of the line than it is to day.

At Rs.10249 it is hard to recommend this device for purchase. Al
though it is a good, solid, fully featured smartphone, it has enough flaws in implementation that it is not an obvious choice.
On the other hand, many people have fallen in love with the previous generation of Micromax Canvas phones, and you can have this one for slightly more than half the price of the most recent generation. Prices will also fall further after the release of the Canvas 4, so keep an eye out for even better deals in the future.

Karbonn TA Fone A34 HD Review, Specifications

  • by
  • Techbase Webmaster
  • Karbonn Mobile has recently launched a budget Android tablet for Rs 7,290.
This budget tablet has relatively low specs, but makes up for it in its price.
The 7 inch tablet has 2 SIM  card slots, 2G wireless connectivity, a 1 Gigahertz processor, and 512 megabytes of ram.

The Karbonn TA Fone A34 HD runs Android 4.0, not the latest version of Google's operating system. The 7 inch display has a resolution of 1280x600, not fantastic, but respectable for a device of this price range. The included cameras are barely adequate for any purposes, at 2 megapixels rear, and only .3 pixels in the front.

Karbonn Mobile has launched a new dual SIM 7 inch tablet with 2G connectivity. The Karbonn TA FOne A34HD runs on a 1 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM which is the basic minimum configuration and is aimed at very basic budget tablet category.
The Android 4.0 running tablet has a 2 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. The tablet's 7 inch display gets 1280x600 pixel resolution which is good for a budget tablet.
The tablet does have a number of connectivity options with edge, WIFI, Bluetooth, and USB. The onboard memory of 2 gigs is upgradeable to 32 gigs if necessary.
Overall, this is a fairly underpowered machine, but makes up for it with a very respectable price. For most basic uses, this machine may be a great low budget option.
Locations for where to buy the  Karbonn TA Fone A34 HD mobile will follow in future posts.

One warning to keep in mind, the previous Karbonn tablets have not received positive reviews from FlipKart and other online retailers, so please read up on other user's opinions before buying.

Recommendation: Buy the affordable Micromax Ninja A89!

  • by
  • Techbase Webmaster

  • The Micromax ninja A89 is an excellent compromise between performance and cost. The dual core, 1GHz processor is enough for all but the most extreme uses, while costing significantly less than half as much as a performance quad core machine.

Customers have favorably rated this Ice Cream Sandwich based machine, with up to 32 gigabytes of upgradeable storage, and dual SIM slots.

The expansive 3.97 inch Capacitive touch-screen is a joy to work with, though the 3 MP included camera leaves something to be desired.

Although the camera is slightly below average, and battery life is similarly average, customers have generally rated this machine between 4 and 5 stars.

Video playing and recording is satisfactory, gaming and internet are top of the line in performance.

We heartily recommend this machine for budget conscious shopppers.
